Written by Stephen Speilberg and directed by Richard Donner, The Goonies is re-released in a Collector's Edition set to celebrate its 30th Anniversary.

In risk of losing their homes to property developers, a group of kids called The Goonies go on an epic adventure to find Pirate One Eyed Willy's "rich stuff". However, in order to enter a cavern to the treasure, they've got to get past criminals The Fratelli's, who are unknowingly in hiding above it.

Mikey (Sean Astin) is the leader of The Goonies, Mouth (Corey Feldman) is cool but talks too much, Chunk (Jeff Cohen) is a compulsive liar with an insatiable appetite, and Data (Jonathan Ke Quan) is equipped with a multitude of wacky gadgets. Also accompanying them are Mikey's older brother Brand (Josh Brolin), his girlfriend Andy (Kerri Green) and her best friend Stef (Martha Plimpton).

The hair styles, expressions and music may seat the film firmly in the 1980s, but the humour, magic and sense of adventure are still as fresh, fun and enchanting today.

Extras on the disc include a commentary with Director Richard Donner and all 7 Goonies. More fun is the Hidden Video Treasures, where the crew pop-up throughout the film. There's also the original 1985 making of, deleted scenes (including an encounter with a giant octopus), theatrical trailer and Cyndi Lauper's The Goonies 'R' Good Enough music video. In case that wasn't enough, there's also a digital HD Ultraviolet copy of the film for watching on the go.

The collector's box also includes a souvenir magazine with 150 photos, glossy storyboards and Empire's 20th anniversary reunion, originally featured in their magazine. The box itself looks great, though is a bit fiddly to open, so do be careful if you want to keep the rich stuff in pristine condition.

The Goonies remains an absolute classic, not just of the 1980s, but of all time. The picture quality on Blu-ray is fantastic and the 30th Anniversary Collector's edition is a must-own.
